Rosemary and Rue is well-written urban fantasy. This novel is full of the melancholy. Not what I would call fatalistic or depressing, but instead in touch with the sad, the weary, the timeless angst of the faerie folklore and myths. San Francisco is a beautiful setting for /5(K). Rosemary and Rue is a book that utterly transports you.

It grips you, astonishes you and makes you both cry and laugh. The world McGuire has created here is nothing short of stunning, although perhaps I should have expected no less/5(). On the positive side there are stable and unstable romantic and platonic relationships that are built on friendship and trust.

On its own, Rosemary and Rue is an OK, run-of-the-mill urban fantasy book. The series gains momentum after a couple more books and the more of them I read, the more stories I want/5().

" Rosemary and Rue is a fast paced ride through the streets, parks, and cliffs of San Francisco, lifting the covers to reveal that which lies unseen.

An incredible mix of action, mystery, fairy, urban fantasy, and just a smidgen of romance artfully woven into a story impossible to put down.” — Sacramento Book ReviewBrand: DAW. Rosemary and Rue book. Read reviews from world’s largest community for readers.

Rosemary and Rue As a changeling, October Daye has been burned by both the fae and human sides of her heritage; an outsider since birth, Toby, as she is known, makes the choice to retreat to a normal life, a choice the faerie world will not countenance.

The structure of Rosemary and Rue is very formulaic. Overall, the audiobook presents a great mythical journey set in a modern-day fairy tale. You get gripped from the first of Toby’s mishaps.
